Wow what a stunning view. I’d love to visit somewhere like this x
Is it Pompeii? We were there in the summer – amazing place.
before i read that it was pompeii, i was thinking to myself Roman ruins. such a wonderful shot with that volcano behind it.
Pompeii.
There were plenty of visitors, I just got lucky with this photo as the street was closed off.
This street was peaceful as it was closed, other parts of the site weren’t quite as calm!
Thank you Andrea for your lovely words!
My goodness what a fabulous and eerie photograph. I have sat for the longest time just mesmerised. Thank you for sharing.
Looks nice and peaceful there, I love to explore! x
That is stunning – where is it
Wow, it looks like you were there on a day with no visitors. The boys would love to visit
There were plenty of people in other streets but this one was closed to the public and conveniently had Vesuvius at the end, so I just got lucky! Thanks Charly!
Oh wow Phoebe what a fabulous sight to capture, wonderful photograph. Must have been really nice to get it while no-one was around too!
We tried to go but go there just after closing time so only saw it from above. We prioritised climbing Mt Vesuvius which didn’t leave quite enough time.
It was a closed off street so hence no people, I just stuck my camera through the fence and snapped.
Did you get to Herculaneum as well? Even better preserved, though still lots to be excavated.
Ah ha! I know where this is. You are brilliant to get a photo like this. Amazing.
Actually even in February it as pretty busy though I imagine not on the same scale as August. This was the only shot I got without crowds because it was a closed off street and luckily just happened to have Vesuvius at the end!
I’ve been here, it’s such an incredible place isn’t it. I visited in August when it was very hot and very crowded. This looks peaceful.
Yes, Pompeii with Vesuvius in the background
near…
It’s the ruins of the city of Pompeii, it is absolutely fascinating.
It’s Pompeii, with Mt Vesuvius in the background
Looks amazing. Would love to know where it is 🙂
… or Pompeii? I hadn’t realised how close Naples was.
What did this place use to be? Looks really interesting
Thank you for linking up
Naples?
