Holiday in France with your electric car (EV) stress-free by staying with us at Lou Messugo gite. We have a handy EV charging point right outside your front door.
Holiday in France with your EV stress-free
Avoid range-anxiety by knowing that you can charge your EV overnight at your accommodation. While there are increasing numbers of public EV charging points throughout France, usually in motorway service stations, town centres, shopping malls and supermarkets, nothing beats the convenience of being able to charge at your holiday rental.
As electric cars and plug-in hybrids are becoming more and more popular (we drive EVs ourselves), we made the decision a few years ago to install an EV charging plug for the use of our guests. We offer a Type 1, 3.2 kW charging point free of charge, right outside the front door.
Explore the Côte d’Azur in your electric car (EV)
Unlimited electric charging at Lou Messugo enables you to fully explore the beautiful Côte d’Azur without worrying about finding your next charging point. Plug in and charge overnight and wake up fully charged and ready to go!
Sustainable travel in France with your electric car
If sustainable and eco-friendly travel is important to you, you’re in the right place bringing your electric car to stay at Lou Messugo. As well as promoting EV travel we do our best to run the gite in an as environmentally friendly way as possible.
Some examples include: underfloor heating (in the cooler months) provided by an air source heat pump, no air conditioning but traditional louvered shutters and fans to keep you cool in the summer. Ecological washing-up liquid, laundry detergent, loo rolls, cleaning products and no disposable sponges.
LED lighting and almost zero use of tumble dryer. Most of the furniture is renovated and repurposed. Compost, recycling, zero pesticides in the garden and a wild natural style creating as much biodiversity as possible.
Mini electric car mini break
But let’s get back to electric cars. We had great fun hosting Vloggers Tim and Mr Boo from YouTube Channel Me and Mon Ami in October 2022. They stayed at Lou Messugo with their Citroën Ami EV. Have you ever seen such a tiny car?
Check out the fabulous video of their electric mini break (where I have a starring role – much to my embarrassment. I hate being in front of the camera!)
Driving an electric car in France
If you’d like more information about driving an electric car in France this is a comprehensive and useful guide and of course I’d be happy to answer any questions you might have. We’ve driven across France and around northern Italy in our EV as well as day-to-day use on the Côte d’Azur so we have a fair bit of experience to share.
