I’ve recently had the pleasure of writing a guest post for one of my favourite travel blogs, The World is a Book all about free things to do in Nice with children as part of a series of free things to do in cities all over the world.

free things Nice

Mary, from The World is a Book, runs an occasional series called Five Free Family Fun which she describes here: “we all know traveling as a family isn’t cheap these days and we try to save as much when visiting attractions. But, why pay when there are many FREE attractions everywhere you visit?”

I totally agree, this is very much our family ethos when travelling so I was delighted to be able to add my local knowledge about the French Riviera’s most wonderful city, Nice, to Mary’s series.

Mary’s blog The World is a Book was one of the first family travel blogs I discovered when I tentatively began writing myself and I’ve been hugely inspired by Mary’s sumptuous photos, lust for adventure and boundless energy as she explores our incredible planet with her husband and two children.  Mary really is a world traveller, visiting all sorts of off the beaten path locations such as the Galapagos Islands and French Polynesia, which she wrote about for my series on “far-flung France” here on this blog.  The stuff dreams are made of!
