Lou Messugo is designed to have a fresh Provençal look, combining comfortable furnishings and plenty of individual touches, such as original local art on the walls and hand-painted furniture, with traditional flooring and shutters.
The accommodation is all on the ground floor. The dual-aspect living room-kitchen-diner has double sliding doors, which open onto the south-facing terrace and offer views of the garden.
This sunny room has a sofa bed, which when open is a comfortable full-width bed (140cm), and when closed seats two people comfortably.
There’s a dining table and four chairs, Smart TV with channels in English and French, and a CD player with USB port so you can plug in and play your own music.
We provide a well-stocked bookcase with novels, including several set in the local area, guide books and children’s books. There are also a few card games and we can supply more board games from our personal collection, you just have to ask.
Free WiFi is available throughout the apartment.
In the kitchen area, you’ll find a fridge, combination microwave/regular oven, 2 ring electric hob, extractor hood, kettle, toaster and all necessary cooking utensils. We also provide a high chair, plastic cups and plates for babies and toddlers if required.
The bedroom has a comfortable double bed (140×200), bedside tables with reading lights, wardrobe, chest-of-drawers and full-length mirror. The room is spacious enough to accommodate a baby cot if required (which we can provide free of charge).
The bathroom has a large open shower with rain-head, WC, basin, heated towel rail and storage space. A hairdryer is provided. Laundry facilities are available and you’ll find an iron and ironing board in the apartment.
The windows all have louvered wooden shutters which open in the niçois style, creating shade and allowing a breeze to circulate, keeping the apartment cool in the traditional way. Fans are also provided in the summer months. For cosy winter visits, Lou Messugo is centrally heated throughout with underfloor heating.
Mediterranean plants such as lavender, rosemary, mimosa and pines perfume the air and there’s nearly always something pretty flowering in our evergreen garden. The south-facing terrace, directly off the living room, is your private sun-trap. Temperatures often reach the mid 20s (°C) in winter which makes it possible (and very pleasant) to use all year round. This lovely space is equipped with sun loungers, a table, chairs, large parasol and a barbeque – perfect for relaxation and al fresco dining.

The pool (10×4.5m) is open from around mid May to end of September, weather dependent (it is not heated). It is fully fenced for your security and shared only with us, your hosts. We try our best to gauge whether you’d like to be alone or happy to have company and after many years hosting guests we think we’re pretty good at it. So you’ll find the pool is pretty much just for you if that’s what you want. We provide sun loungers, a parasol and some inflatables for your enjoyment.
The garden at Lou Messugo is set out over two levels with the bottom level for the guests and the top for us. There’s a large flat grassy area, suitable for kicking a ball, playing badminton or mölkky (all provided). There is also a dry gravel garden planted with local plants requiring very little water.
At the end of the grass you’ll find a pétanque (boules) pitch and a ping-pong table. All balls and bats for boules and table tennis are provided.
There is secure parking within the property, directly outside your front door with a handy plug for your Electric Vehicle (EV). You’re welcome to use our garage to store any large items you may have such as bikes, golf clubs or a roof box.
