All About France #8

Welcome to the 8th All About France the monthly link up all about France! If you're a blogger and this is your first time here you might want to find out more here. If you're simply visiting my blog for a read then I hope you enjoy all the posts about France; you'll find plenty more here.

All About France blog linky with Lou Messugo

It's la rentrée in France, an annual event that encompasses more than just "back to school", it's more like "back to normalcy".  You can read more about it in the post I've linked up today.  I hope you've all had fabulous summer holidays with lots of adventures, relaxation and fun to tell us all about in blog posts!  If you're in the Southern Hemisphere then I wish you a happy spring!

Thanks to everyone who linked up last month, here are a couple of posts I loved and hope you'll take the time to have a look if you haven't already.  A somewhat gory look at the storming of the Bastille from Girl Gone Gallic and The most difficult French words for Americans to say from Diane at Oui in France.  One reason I enjoyed Diane's video is it's fun to see and hear one of the regular participants in this linky. Talking of which I actually physically met another regular, American Mom in Bordeaux, while she was on holiday in my very town!  That was a fun meet up.

In other news a couple of my favourite "French" bloggers have recently moved away to new countries which might mean less posts on France, though I hope they keep linking up archival material for as long as they can.  I'm talking about Simply Sara Travels and What Up Swags :-( And finally, there's baby news in this growing community!  Congratulations to Eolia at la Cité des Vents on the birth of her baby and Chrissie at The Riviera Grapevine on the impending arrival, any day now :-)  Does anyone else have any news along these lines?  Do share!

Happy linking everyone, just please remember the rules!

• You can link up one or two posts, old or new as long as they're about France/French.
• Please make sure you include the All About France badge at the bottom of your post or on the sidebar, or a hyper-link back to me.
• Please comment on my post and at least two others, the more the merrier. Blog linkys only work if you're generous with your comments and shares.
• Don't forget I'll RT your tweets using the hashtag #AllAboutFrance and any links copied to @FibiTee.
• And don't forget you can pin your post to the Pinterest board for extra exposure.

Aww, thanks for the shout-out, Phoebe! Even though I'm back in the US, I still plan to write about France (and European travel) on my blog - there is so much that I never got around to writing about! Right now I'm writing about London, but new France posts on the way soon :-) I love this link-up, and appreciate it all the more now that I'm no longer living in France. You all give me a sweet remembrance of France through your posts! Merci :-)

Hi Phoebe, round 2 for my attempt at All About France! I hope I've linked up this time :) Well I'm another one with newborn baby news (is there something in the water?), our lovely Joshua is now 6 weeks old so blog writing has taken a backseat to feeding! Looking forward to reading more posts from other bloggers. Becks

No babies on the way here but hopefully our pig is pregnant - does that count? Lovely also to put a face to a blogger and how nice for you to meet up.

Et le rentrée - how could I not write about that too?! I've just had a manic filling in of paperwork the boys forgot to give me last night and am sure there will be plenty more forms to fill in. I am still waiting for the list of books etc from several teachers and hoping I have done it all right! Oh and the school bus now leaves 15 minutes EARLIER than last year at 7am but there is one small advantage: it now stops in a different place a tiny bit closer to home and easier for me to turn round at and there is a shelter for the pupils rather than before, when they had to huddle under a tree when it rained! Bonne rentrée :)

Oops - I meant LA rentrée not LE rentrée - bloomin' French nouns!

typo Rosie, nothing more!! Let's hope your pig is pregnant so we can see cute piglet photos. Is BJ the dad? If she is, how long is gestation? When can we expect cute piglet photos?

Yes, M. Maire de Londres is the Dad and if all is well piglets will be due around early November. Pip pregnancies are 3 months, 3 weeks and 3 days long!
